At this point, you’ll wish you had eyes at the back of your head – so you won’t miss any of the animal action going on in the jungle. Look up, look left, look right and even below! There are Scarlet Macaws and Scarlet Ibis roaming freely around the sanctuary so you've got to be alert to spot them. JAGUAR
This is one kitty you wouldn’t like to cross. The jaguar, also known as a panther is well-muscled and stocky, making it an excellent candidate for tree-climbing. Its jaw is extremely powerful – it can easily pierce through turtle shells and drag a 300kg animal through dense jungle terrain. Like the tiger, this large cat loves swimming and prefers to be solitary. One interesting thing to note is that black jaguars retain their spots, which can be seen upon closer examination!
SCARLET IBIS
Widely found in the wetlands of South America, the Scarlet Ibis is hard to miss, especially when they flock to the same tree, as they often do. Like flamingos, the Scarlet Ibis gets its brilliant red colour from the shrimp it eats. This beautiful bird is also one of nature’s pest controllers, often patrolling croplands for insect pests. Needless to say, farmers are great fans of the Scarlet Ibis. However, pesticide use has caused the birds to decline dramatically in a number of locations.
